  Between Feb-Nov, you can hire a bike from Outback Cycling at the Visitor Centre. With a 3 hour hire, you'll have time to pedal around the rock and stop off at the waterholes and other points of interest. A really pleasant way to see Uluru, and less exhausting than doing the full walk in the heat, even if the sandy sections can be a bit of a challenge! The hire bikes are basic 3-speed town bikes, suitable for everyone even if you haven't been on a bike in decades. It's a shame there aren't any mountain bikes on offer, as they would handle the surface better. Book in advance to make sure you can get a bike at the time you want.

  Rent the bikes. We made the mistake of walking not realizing how hot we were going to be. We could have seen so much more, enjoyed our day if we had seen these bikes before.
