This is a really wonderful site before you visit Uluru. It goes in detail about the native peoples and culture to give you a real sense of what they are like. The facility is owned and maintained by the natives, so it is very accurate and not exceptionally touristy. There is also a native art shop featuring art and artifacts created by local people, so if you want a real piece of local art, skip the tourist traps at the resort and spend your money here.
